John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends Collection: Giveaway

The new John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends Collection is out and it's a beauty.

The three-colour strong set of colours - a snip at RRP $22.99 each - is so very good, and I should know… I have used the John Frieda Precision Foam colours several times and I am completely impressed with the quality, ease, no-mess application and ultimately, a fantastic result. Read on below for details on how to win one of five packs containing two colours each. Each pack valued at $45.98.

The colour gurus at John Frieda are obviously very good at their job - their latest invention marries all the technology of salon quality hair colour in an at-home blend. These new multi-dimensional salon quality custom-blends are built on the success of Precision Foam Colour but on a whole new level of expertise. Salon Blends are effectively shade blends previously only available in a salon.

In a salon, colourist’s hands mix shades to create an individual colour that takes into account skin tone, age and existing colour. This personalised approach is the reason women choose to get their colour done in salon.

The John Frieda Hair Care Experts captured this technique by combining warm, cool and neutral tones into this home hair colour blend to create complex, nuanced tones previously only accessible in salon.

The Precision Foam Colour Salon Blends colour offering includes three new multi-dimensional shades:

- 4PBN Dark Cool Espresso Brown
- 5NBG Medium Chestnut Brown
- 7NBG Dark Caramel Blonde

“When my clients come into the salon, I use colours from a professional shade palette to create exclusive blends customised to their skin tone and desired colour,” explains John Frieda Creative Colour Director Nicola Clarke.

“The shades I created are hugely popular because you typically can’t get them in home hair colour - it takes a professional to blend the basic tones expertly. I worked with John Frieda Hair Care to share some of the most popular, flattering blends I create at the salon, transforming them into shades of Precision Foam Colour.”

If you've coloured your hair at home before, you'll know the process can be tricky, perhaps a tad messy and a little touch and go. This John Frieda Precision Foam Colour is seriously super easy. Here's what you'll need to do:
  1. Pour colourant into developer bottle and gently tilt five times to mix.
  2. Create foam by squeezing the bottle.
  3. Begin applying a generous amount of foam at the roots and massage into your hair. The more you massage the foam the better the results.
  4. Continue applying foam until your hair is completely saturated.
  5. Even if you are a salon die-hard, Precision Foam Colour is a great travel option if you are caught between colour sessions and need a top up. This is a traveller’s dream solution.
  6. For best results choose either 2 shades lighter or darker than
your current colour. For more help visit johnfrieda.com.au to consult the shade selector and find your perfect match.
When you wash out the foam (again, an easier process as it's a foam solution), lock in colour with John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Intense After-Colour Conditioner, RRP $16.99. It helps stop fade and keeps hair feeling supple. Thanks to popular demand, this fantastic conditioner is now available to purchase on its own in a full sized 150ml tube. It's suitable for use on all colour treated hair.

Amanda Goff, High-Class Escort: 'Sunday Night'

UPDATED:

The entire interview from 'Sunday Night' is here:

This morning, the identity of the woman featured in a teaser ad run by  the Channel 7 show 'Sunday Night' was revealed. Amanda Goff, former beauty editor for Prevention magazine and an acting magazine editor for New Idea, as well as beauty writer for InStyle magazine, was revealed as the woman behind these ads, featuring a Sydney media identity who is now leading a double life as an escort, getting paid $800 per one hour session. She works for herself and goes under the name of 'Samantha X'.

I worked alongside Amanda when she was beauty editor at Prevention magazine and I was a sub-editor and editor on a special mini-mag produced for the mag. I recall we had a mutual friend and chatted about that, and exchanged general friendly chit-chat.

Amanda has friends who are friends with me, and who have posted on social media today saying that this news does not ring true with the person they know and love.

And that's the thing: escorts don't often 'look like' what they're 'meant to'.

I discovered this when I researched and wrote a story for Marie Claire Australia on high class hookers at Sydney's Stilettos.

The women I interviewed were breathtakingly beautiful. Stunning, intelligent women who were former business owners or current university students, the latter very adamant they were doing it just to pay uni fees. Many of these women had long standing clients, and most of these clients were married men. Some were young men venturing into sex for the first time with weekly appointments with them, others were uni professors and businessmen who wanted 'a bit on the side' while remaining married to their long-term partners. Their wives knew not a single thing about their double lives. None of the women 'looked' like prostitutes. And I recall asking if any of the women had boyfriends or long term relationships. No… the majority of these women were single, and had tried being in relationships but found that their men were ultimately jealous and the sex workers had to break off these relationships. See some of that magazine story here.

Here is Amanda Goff as call-girl and Amanda Goff as magazine girl:

Amanda is releasing a book called 'Hooked - Secrets of a High-Class Escort'.

The 40 year old is now a mother of two by day and a sex worker by night.

Read more on Amanda's story here and tune in tonight on Channel 7 at 8.30pm, on 'Sunday Night.'

Oh, I also had to include this post, clearly translated by someone with English clearly not their first language. Eek.

UPDATED:

'Sunday Night' ran a live Q & A on Facebook with Amanda, AKA Samantha X. They posted this message at around 10.20pm on the night the story screened:

We are ending our live Q&A with Amanda, AKA Samantha X, and thank you all for your questions. She has responded with this message:

Dear all,
Thank you for watching. I just want to say a few things that were edited out on TV...Firstly, only a small percentage of my clients are married. I see men whose wives have died, disabled people, men who havent had sex in 20 years, etc etc..
Also, my job actually involves very little sex sometimes! It's mostly companionship. I hear a lot, I see a lot, and I have compassion for a human being who is lonely, sad, depressed whatever. It is not up to me to judge him if he is married.
Regarding my children. They are very little (under 7). I have been seeing a child psychologist for a year now and speaking to her about what to tell the kids and when, and I can assure you all that they are fine and will be OK.
I appreciate all your comments.
Thank you.

And here is the interview with Samantha X and Kyle & Jackie O on KIIS radio:

Joan Rivers: on life support + social media backlash

The prognosis for Joan Rivers is not looking good.

According to celeb site TMZ, Joan is on life support, and sources close to the US comedian tell TMZ she is completely reliant on machines to stay alive.

According to TMZ sources, the family will have to decide in the next couple of days whether to keep the 81-year-old on life support. TMZ has been told the family remains hopeful that if they do decide to turn off the machines, she will make a turn for the better and fight through it.

As TMZ first reported, Joan was rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during throat surgery on Thursday.

In a kind of backlash I have never seen before directed at a celebrity who clearly polarises so much, social media posts on Joan's current medical condition have been filled equally with messages of support for Joan as well as vitriol, after Joan made comments recently about the Palestine, saying she had zero sympathy for Palestinian civilians killed in the Gaza conflict because they had fair warning to get out, and didn't… so they deserve to die.

Joan was filmed at LAX when she delivered her now famous rant about Israel defending itself... by screaming she doesn't want to hear about civilian casualties.

A sample of her rage: "They started it. We now don't count who's dead. You're dead, you deserve to be dead."

It was later updated with this statement from Joan where she said she was "totally taken out of context. What I said and stand behind is, war is hell and unfortunately civilians are victims of political conflicts. We, the United States, certainly know this as 69 years later we still feel the guilt of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."

She adds, "Along with every other sane person in this world, I am praying for peace."

Right now, with Joan on life support, this kind of talk should be left to rest for now. Social media obviously disagrees. Thoughts?

Instagram Hyperlapse How-to: VIDEO

Instagram has today launched Hyperlapse - a video function enabling users to smoothly capture time lapse videos - previously only achievable with a very still hand and/or excellent camera equipment.

To use Hyperlapse here is all you need to do: open up the in-app viewfinder, tap once to begin recording and tap again to stop, tweak the playback speed to between 1x to 12x, then save the clip to your camera roll.

From here, you can post as you normally would on Instagram.

Here is the official Instagram show reel on it:

The Instagram message posted on Facebook today says:

Today, we’re excited to announce Hyperlapse from Instagram, a new app to capture high-quality time lapse videos even while in motion. Hyperlapse from Instagram features built-in stabilization technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses that result in a cinematic look, quality and feel—a feat that has previously only been possible with expensive equipment. From documenting your whole commute in seconds or preparing your dinner from start to finish to capturing an entire sunset as it unfolds, we're thrilled about the creative possibilities Hyperlapse unlocks. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create.

Instagram has added:

Since launching nearly four years ago, it has always been a priority to bring the Instagram community simple yet powerful tools that let people capture moments and express their creativity. Today, we’re excited to announce Hyperlapse from Instagram, a new app to capture high-quality time lapse videos even while in motion.
Traditionally, time lapse videos depend on holding your phone or camera still while you film. Hyperlapse from Instagram features built-in stabilization technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses that result in a cinematic look, quality and feel—a feat that has previously only been possible with expensive equipment.
We designed Hyperlapse to be as simple as possible. You don’t need an account to create a hyperlapse. Instead, you open up straight to the camera. Tap once to begin recording and tap again to stop. Choose a playback speed that you like between 1x-12x and tap the green check mark to save it to your camera roll. You can share your video on Instagram easily from there.
From documenting your whole commute in seconds or the preparation of your dinner from start to finish to capturing an entire sunset as it unfolds, we’re thrilled about the creative possibilities Hyperlapse unlocks. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create.
To learn more about what stabilization looks like in Hyperlapse, check out this video.

Hyperlapse from Instagram is available today for iOS devices in Apple’s App Store. It is currently only available for iOS.
Instagram gave a photojournalist a preview and here's what they posted about him and his video:

“I’m redefining myself as a photographer in my home country,” says photojournalist David Guttenfelder (http://instagram.com/dguttenfelder).
Based in Japan and India for the past 15 years, David worked across Asia, from war-torn Afghanistan to reclusive North Korea, where his Instagram feed became an unique window into a secluded world. This year, he returns to the United States as a National Geographic photography fellow, working on a long-term project about the ecosystem surrounding Yellowstone National Park. National Geographic (http://instagram.com/natgeo) was given a preview of Instagram’s new Hyperlapse app, and David was one of the first photographers to try it out, recording the bison that he now shares the road with on his daily commute.
“I will spend the next year in America's Wild West,” he explains, adding: “What could be a more perfect homecoming?”
